Personality & Traits

General Overview Brian is unusually quiet and speaks little but he observes everything going on around him. He follows the orders given and doesn’t question them, making him one of the best types of Marines.

Beneath the stoic exterior, there is a man who is trying to reconcile the two halves of his life: the man he was before his isolation and the man he’s now become.

He is loyal to a fault to those who deserve it, and is willing to protect those he considers family, and gets deeply uncomfortable with being called a survivor or a victim. If the uncomfortableness gets too much, he has been prone to lashing out.
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths

Personal History Born July 15th, 2350, Brian Rhett Kable enlisted in the Federation Marine Corps at 18, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.

He quickly distinguished himself in tactical operations, specializing in reconnaissance and hostile-environment survival. By his early thirties, he had earned a reputation as a reliable NCO capable of handling high-risk missions.

In 2383, Brian was deployed with a Marine detachment to investigate disappearances along the fringes of Tzenkethi-controlled space near the Bajoran borders. During a covert reconnaissance operation, his team was ambushed by a rogue splinter faction operating outside official Tzenkethi authority. Brian was captured, presumed killed in action, and officially listed as MIA.

For seven years, Brian survived in a clandestine prison-lab facility where the splinter faction conducted biological and psychological experiments on captured Federation personnel. He endured everything from sensory deprivation to harsh environmental conditions, forced labour to intermittent interrogation. He was beaten and broken many times over during this period and left with multiple lacerations, fractures, stiffness and scar tissue across a lot of his body. If the outside looked bad, his mental state during this time was worse.

Brian eventually escaped during a facility malfunction caused by a reactor overload. He survived alone for months on a barren moon before being rescued by a Ferengi salvage crew who recognized the value of returning a Federation Marine.

Brian was repatriated in early 2390. His reintegration was complicated. physically, psychologically, and socially. The Federation had moved on. His family had mourned him. His brother Dakota had risen in rank. His parents had aged visibly. And then came the revelation that shook him more than captivity ever had.

Shortly before his final deployment in 2383, Brian had a brief but meaningful relationship with an Intelligence Officer named Danielle Logan on board the USS Sentinel. Unknown to him, she discovered she was pregnant after he went missing. Believing Brian dead, she raised their son, Tristan, alone.

When Starfleet Command notified Danielle’s family of Brian’s survival, they hesitated to contact him, unsure of how he would react. Danielle herself had passed away during a mission when Tristan was four years old, leaving her cousin Dallas to eventually get custody and become legal guardian of Tristan. Brian learned of Tristan during a medical debrief when a genetic screening flagged a paternal match in Federation records. The revelation stunned him.

A transfer request was put in for the USS Astrea to the Marine detachment on board and Brian now faces the challenge of building a relationship with a child who has lived his entire life without him, hopefully one day being able to get custody.
