The Audit
Posts: —
Starfleet Command dispatches Captain Norberto Anselmo Heraclio Izan Palacios, a legendary investigator and lawyer, along with his assistant, Lieutenant Commander Jung-hee Cho, to conduct a full audit of the Astrea. Officially, the audit is routine: performance, compliance with regulations, resource allocation, and crew conduct.
Officially, Starfleet is concerned about:
- • Performance on patrol and relief missions.
- • Compliance with regulations and Federation law.
- • Crew conduct (shipboard romances) and operational logs.
Unofficially, Starfleet is concerned about:
- • Independent initiatives by the senior staff.
- • Astrea’s use of unconventional tactics or experimental systems.
- • Potential violations of Starfleet’s post-Romulan-supernova protocols.
The crew is suddenly under intense scrutiny, and every action is watched.
Act I - Arrival and First Impressions
• The auditors arrive aboard the Astrea.
• Initial assessments include reviewing operations, engineering systems, and crew logs.
• The auditors’ presence immediately heightens tension, and some crew members feel defensive.

Location: Barisa Prime
The ship is in space dock at the Starbase orbiting Barisa Prime for a couple of days recuperating from an unexpected hit from the Ataran vessel. While waiting, the crew gets a couple of days of R&R, and a few new faces join the crew.
Among other things, Barisa Prime boasts a capital city that is the Vegas of the Beta quadrant: casinos, shows, and restaurants all set to attract and impress guests. There are family friendly options and certainly nature to see off the beaten path. -
Helping Brunel
Posts: 102
On MD 11, during a seemingly normal evening, Brunel collapsed. It was discovered that a combination of a mild allergic reaction and a recent vaccine protocol triggered a time bomb that was already in Brunel's body. His genetic mutations were more serious than being born mute, and his immune system is attacking his own body.
Years ago, when the Captain was still a science officer she had started a project at Daestrom that could potentially be used toward a cure for Brunel's condition. However, her research along with other similar working medical projects were all shut down and banned as part of the larger synth ban in 2385. Just how far will the crew go and to what lengths, to save Brunel's life. -
Security Alert: These Bugs Again

MD 10: When Lieutenant Jules Mundy visits Sickbay for busting up his hands on a punching bag in the gym, a lot more is uncovered when Dr. McEntyre determines that the injuries to Mundy's right hand require surgery. While Mundy was being aroused from the anesthetic a parasitic lifeform known as a bluegill escaped through Mundy's throat and began looking for a new host before being quickly put into a quarantine chamber thanks to the quick actions of medical crew and modern technology.
Tactical Chief Clay McEntyre has begun an investigation to determine where Lieutenant Mundy picked up this parasite, which can take complete control over its host. The last known Federation encounter was less than one year ago, and because the parasite detached itself, the Lieutenant had likely been infected less than four weeks. It's called into question a number of recent behaviors, including a recent transfer request to Security.
Where will this investigation trace back to, and how widespread is the security threat? -

The crew arrives to New Sausalito to help the Atarans settle into their new home. Per their request, they've asked to have their own community rather than get lost among the blended society of the main colonies. Civil Operations will have their hands full establishing the people into their new settlement in modern society.
Meanwhile, command and the rest of the diplomatic division are presented with difficult issues. The crew has learned that the "delegates" they've been dealing with are slavers, and the rest of the Atarans have been hidden on the lower decks of their ship, likely to be held there until the Atarans feel the coast is clear to bring them out.
The Captain and her crew, led prmarily by the First Officer and the Diplomatic Division must figure out how to get the enslaved Atarans off of the Serenity safely, and before the ship tries to flee. The fate of the slavers to be decided later...
Season 2: Diplomacy in an Undiplomatic World
While the Astrea heads back from the Typhon Expanse it is directed back to Barisa Prime just in time for a conference on the Vulcan - Romulan Unification Movement.
Meanwhile, Jason and T'lenn skip the conference and make a trip to Vulcan where they will be meeting one another's parents for the first time and discussing their future wedding.
Intelligence Officer Fulvia, with the assistance of the Marines, Science Department, and others continue their efforts to identify the mysterious weapon that the Nausicaans are trying to sell to the Breen on Freecloud.

Peril at the Unification Accords
Posts: 522
The USS Astrea is once again at Barisa Prime. Starfleet is a neutral host to a conference for Vulcan Romulan Unification discussions. The Marines are being used in their peacekeeping capacity as security for the conference. Seats are available for Starfleet officers to attend many of the talks, and diplomatic officers are being used to faciliate relationships among the disparate Vulcan and Romulan social groups during open social hours.
Officers are be permitted 48 hour shore-leave, with Department Head approval, and coverage permitting. Astrea should remain staffed at all times during this visit. We are all asked remain vigilant as there are a number of groups who are benefitting from the disarray in the Beta Quadrant and would love to see these talks fail.
This mission will take a turn, and the Astrea will become unexpectedly more involved when a key member of the conference turns up dead under mysterious circumstances. We will have to get to the bottom of what happened, and who is responsible. -

The USS Dalton went missing in 2380, while studying the Vaulteran Nebula in Bolian Space. However, information has come in that a trader on Freecloud has information about where the Dalton is located. The information is coming into Astrea as the traders were setting up shop on Freecloud, a planet in the Alpha Doradus system, known for being a Mecca for businesses, free traders, and others.
The Pakleds are already interested and may have made an offer, and Astrea is hoping to intercept this information.
The Alpha Doradus system is a long way from Bolian Space, located in the Beta Quadrant just outside of both Federation and Romulan Space. However, Astrea extracted information from the trader's ship indicating that the last known coordinates of the USS Dalton put the vessel at a crash site inside of the Typhon Expanse - an area known for spacial and temporal anomalies. Is it possible a wormhole transported them across quadrants?
