Following the decision to wake cryostasis patients aboard the Serenity, the medical and counseling team prepares for a controlled revival. Engineer Galvin and medical officer Malada, a married Ataran couple, are among the first to be awakened. Wearing protective masks to prevent cross-contamination, the team monitors vitals and guides the couple through the initial shock of awakening. Despite initial fear and confusion, Galvin and Malada begin to acclimate to their surroundings and reunite, reassured by Commander Vila and Dr. Winters. Dr. Beckett explains the need for gradual exposure to pathogens and vaccinations due to the long isolation. The crew also prepares for the revival of other family members and ensures the safe integration of the Ataran children. Throughout, LtJG Thivi observes and supports the process, while the team coordinates careful quarantine and stabilization procedures for the awakened Atarans.
