Osirin takes Kash to the Salan Oasis, a secluded Akadian settlement, for a private excursion. As they travel, they discuss their respective worlds, cultures, and personal backgrounds, building mutual trust and understanding. Upon arrival, they are confronted by local Akadians who challenge Osirin’s honor due to Kash’s presence. Osirin declares a formal duel, with Kash agreeing to serve as his second. Before the fight, they share a meal at a quiet cafe, discussing Andorian and Akadian warrior traditions and rituals. They then make arrangements to stay with a distant relative of Osirin’s, preparing for the upcoming confrontation while maintaining discretion and respect for local customs.
