The Last Door on Earth, Part 2
Timeline: 6 Weeks Ago, following The Last Door on Earth, Part ILocation: San Francisco, Earth; Bainet, Haiti, Earth

Jean-Baptiste is visited by Commander Birzruk, who explains that despite Admiral Spyvee’s interference, a posting at Starbase 718 has been arranged for him. JB acknowledges the risks but accepts the assignment, preparing to leave Earth and Starfleet Intelligence behind. Later, he visits his father in Haiti, where they share an intimate, late-night conversation over a traditional akasan beverage and collaborate on a crossword puzzle. Through their exchange, JB finds brief solace and reconnection with home, grounding himself emotionally before departing for the edge of Federation space and the uncertainties that lie ahead.
