Synopsis:

Upon arriving at Starbase 718, Jean-Baptiste learns that his anticipated assignment has been rescinded under Admiral Spyvee’s influence. Lieutenant Commander Ferivar offers a strategic alternative aboard the USS Astrea, a starship operating on the frontier where JB’s analytical skills would be essential for predictive conflict modeling and risk assessment. While considering the offer, JB reconnects with Jacqueline Holder, sharing conversation, memories, and a renewed sense of connection. Through their exchange and the quiet reflection it prompts, JB contemplates his role in Starfleet, the challenges of frontier service, and the chance to reclaim purpose on his own terms.
