Following the catastrophic attacks on Mars, Jean-Baptiste Dorsainvil and Cadet Surlek attempt to gather accurate information amidst the Academy’s lockdown and communications blackout. JB intercepts a comm message from Jacqueline, who reveals she and her roommate are being temporarily deployed to field assignments. As JB races toward her dormitory, trying to reach her before her shuttle departs, he encounters heavy security measures. Despite his desperation and training, he is forcibly restrained before he can reunite with her. The sudden shift from normalcy to crisis leaves JB reeling, underscoring the fragility of life, duty, and connection in a world suddenly changed.
