Jean-Baptiste returns home to Bainet after the Academy lockdown and his arrest for striking a security officer in a moment of desperation to reach Jacqueline. Surrounded by his parents’ quiet presence, he begins to process the overwhelming events of the day: Mars’ disaster, Jacqueline’s reassignment to Titan Station, and the offer from Admiral Spyvee to join Starfleet Intelligence. In the soothing, persistent rain, he drinks te jenjanm with his parents, letting their grounding presence offer comfort. Later, alone on the rooftop terrace, he plays Jacqueline’s message, hearing her affirmation of duty and encouragement to find his own path, even in her absence. The night, the rain, and the horizon become mirrors for his reflection and the forming of his next choices.
