Remy Johansen hauls a crate of artifacts from Jupiter Station to Science Lab 7 and enlists Vila Lorut and Ghiram to assist with cataloguing. The items, remnants scattered after the Romulan supernova, range from mundane rocks to strange unknown devices. When Vila uncovers bracelets and she and Remy try them on, the items tighten and fuse to their wrists, sparking panic. Efforts to remove them fail, and initial attempts at separation cause severe headaches and nausea. Ghiram calls for Medical, fearing the artifacts may be hazardous, while Remy and Vila struggle with the realization that the bracelets are more than simple ornaments.
