Upon beaming aboard, the away team finds the alien vessel silent, its metallic corridors coated in dust and cobwebs. Vila divides the crew into teams: Winters and Thisbe toward engineering, Lorut and the science officers to the labs, and Mundy, Dani, and Ghiram to the bridge. Vila forces entry into a locked lab where blue light glows faintly, discovering a workstation with residual auxiliary power. T’lenn theorizes that priority systems may run on independent crystal generators.

On the bridge, Dani and Mundy uncover crystalline power cells and etched data slides. By pooling surviving crystals into a single console, they succeed in activating one terminal, which immediately scans Dani and projects the holographic image of an unknown female alien officer. While Dani attempts to feed data into the universal translator, Ghiram begins downloading what databanks he can reach. Meanwhile, Mundy locates and powers a life support console, restoring breathable atmosphere across the ship. Helmets come off as oxygen and nitrogen levels stabilize, but caution remains: the vessel is waking, its systems active for the first time in decades.
