Synopsis:

The Holana touches down cloaked on Remy’s ancestral farmland in Nebraska, where she reassures her great-grandparents and prepares the away team. At daybreak, Remy, Kas, and Eirly discuss their plan to investigate Lhasa in search of Chozen, a Buddhist monk believed to be connected to Rebecca Lange’s whereabouts. Kas arms them with untraceable phasers and worries about blending in, but Remy insists the city’s cosmopolitan atmosphere will make him less conspicuous.

Disguised as tourists, the trio transports into Lhasa’s bustling night market. They scatter among food stalls, each engaging locals under assumed casual interest. Eirly converses with a Bajoran vendor who offers food and tea, while Kas encounters youths offering guided tours into the mountains. Remy blends into a small crowd with a bubble tea, striking up her own conversation. The setting appears safe but grows subtly crowded.

Suddenly, larger figures maneuver between Eirly, Kas, and Remy, cutting lines of sight. Before Kas and Eirly can react, they are struck with hypodermic needles delivering a potent tranquilizer — a rare but effective antiquated weapon. Overpowered and held upright by their attackers, both are escorted away swiftly under the cover of the busy square, leaving Remy isolated and unaware that her companions have been taken.
