After arriving aboard the Sentinel, Malcolm and Eirly take time to eat, unwind, and discuss the recent events surrounding their mission to secure the positron matrice for Brunel’s procedure. They share details of their experiences, including the interrogation and separation during the Earth leg of the mission. The evening allows them to connect emotionally and offer reassurance to one another. By the night’s end, Malcolm formally asks Eirly to be his girlfriend, and they share a passionate moment together. Their relationship is now defined, providing emotional support as they face the upcoming procedure the following day.
